A small plot of 0.13ha, with vines from the mid-1950s. This is firmer than the Meursaults, more in yellow fruit but otherwise a touch less expressive. An even flow of fruit covers the bone structure. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted Oct 2024.

The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champs Canet 1er Cru is a maiden release that belonged to Bouzereau's grandfather. The vines here around 70-year-old vines from 0.13-hectares. This has a lively and mineral-driven nose, with good tension and touches of hazelnut and smoke emerging over time. The palate is well balanced with a harmonious opening and a fine bead of acidity, though it doesn't quite have the tension of the Champs Gain on the finish. Nevertheless, it is a commendable addition to the range and there will be great vintages to come.(NM)
