Burghound
Reviewed June 2025Note: from a .13 ha parcel; 2023 is the first vintage. Ripe aromas of poached white orchard fruit, apple compote, citrus confit and a plethora of floral and spice elements are complemented by beautifully textured medium weight flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract, which also serves to buffer the even firmer acid spine supporting the impressively long, balanced and solidly complex finale. Exceptionally promising.*Burghound Sweet Spot!*

A small plot of 0.13ha, with vines from the mid-1950s. This is firmer than the Meursaults, more in yellow fruit but otherwise a touch less expressive. An even flow of fruit covers the bone structure. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted Oct 2024.

Vinous
The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Champs Canet 1er Cru is a maiden release that belonged to Bouzereau's grandfather. The vines here around 70-year-old vines from 0.13-hectares. This has a lively and mineral-driven nose, with good tension and touches of hazelnut and smoke emerging over time. The palate is well balanced with a harmonious opening and a fine bead of acidity, though it doesn't quite have the tension of the Champs Gain on the finish. Nevertheless, it is a commendable addition to the range and there will be great vintages to come.(NM)
