The Wine Independent
Reviewed February 2025The 2019 Red Blend ALTA is a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it waltzes out with showy scents of plum preserves, warm cassis, and fragrant soil, followed by wafts of cinnamon stick, menthol, dried sage, and fragrant earth. The full-bodied palate is bursting with bold black fruit and earthy nuances, framed by fine-grained tannins and bags of freshness, finishing long with a savory lift. (LPB)

James Suckling
Aromas of sweet black cherry, black licorice and bark. Full-bodied with creamy tannins. A solid core of black fruit with nice concentration and length. Well-balanced acidity, too. Delicious. Best after 2025.

Vinous
The 2019 Red Blend Alta, Tom Farella's top wine, offers up an exotic mélange of red plum fruit, blood orange, spice, new leather, herbs, pine and mint. Silky and layered, with plenty of persistence, the 2019 is a winner. (AG)
