1991 Dufftown 31 Year Old "The First Editions" Cask Strength Single Bourbon Barrel Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700 ML)
Notes
Dufftown Distillery was established in the heart of Speyside in 1895 when partners Peter Mackenzie, Richard Stackpole, John Symon and Charles Macpherson converted an old mill on the River Dullan into a working malt whisky distillery. It opened as the Dufftown-Glenlivet Distillery and a year later was taken over by P. Mackenzie & Co., already known for owning Blair Athol. Early in the 20th century the site became part of Arthur Bell & Sons in 1933, firmly linking its spirit with the popular Bell’s blended Scotch. Over the following decades the distillery grew, adding stills in 1968, 1974 and 1979 to boost capacity, and its traditional floor maltings were closed in the late 1960s. In 1985 it passed to United Distillers (later becoming part of Diageo in 1997) where it remains today, producing primarily for blends while also offering single malt under names like The Singleton of Dufftown. Finding an old barrel of Dufftown is extremely rare and this special cask was bottled without chillfiltration or coloring of any kind at a natural cask strength of 43.9%
