Review Date: 01/2024The 20222 Bourgogne Passetoutgrain L'Exceptionne is Gamay and Pinot Noir picked together from 94-year-old vines planted by Clothilde Lafarge's great-grandfather. It has wonderful transparency on the nose: red cherries mixed with raspberry. The palate leans more towards the Pinot Noir, with fine delineation, gentle grip and ample tension on the finish. A strong follow-up to the excellent 2021.(NM)

Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "‘Over 80 years old, co-planted half pinot, half gamay grapes always maturing at the same time, in the commune of Volnay near Meursault. Grandfather first commercialised this.’ Pretty red fruits with a lively energy – that’s a lovely start. Melting over the palate in delicious style. With fine length and energy."(09/2024)
