2024 Long Walk Vineyard Rogue Valley Rosé of Cinsault

I had never heard of this small winery before, but I fell in love with this beautiful rosé from the first sip. Long Walk is a small, family estate winery tucked into the hills of the Rogue Valley near Ashland, OR.  The O'Leary family purchased the property in 2000 as a 50-acre historic orchard. Alongside the old heirloom apple trees, they quickly established a vineyard and converted farming over to certified Oregon Tilth organic. Rhône varietals do extremely well in this region, and the estate is predominantly planted to Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault, and Carignane. This crisp, dry, refreshing, pale-pink rosé is made from Cinsault, a grape that is the backbone of many classic rosé wines from Provence. The wine is bright and fresh with citrus peel, white flowers, pomegranate, fresh cut herbs. Vibrant, mouthwatering acidity from the early picked fruit and a lovely underlying minerality from the weathered, volcanic soils. This is a quaffable, lip-smacking bottle that we're selling for an absolute song! $25 at the winery...less than half of that for folks on our Insider's Advantage program! If you're like me and drink rosé all year around, this is well worth stocking up on. It's a house favorite at my place and there will be a chilled bottle on hand as long as it lasts!

This lovely Rhone style rose has a delightful raspberry nose and full ripe palate. The plush body and balanced finish make this wine extremely versatile for food pairings or sipping on its own. This is a fantastic everyday rose, especially at this steal of a price!

Notes

A small production, crisp, dry, wine made from estate-grown Cinsault in the Rogue Valley. A stunning value and perfect everyday quaffer. This property, home to a historic heirloom apple orchard is now a thriving family farm that is certified organic by Oregon Tilth.
