2019 Dana Estates ''Hershey Vineyard'' Howell Mountain Sauvignon Blanc
99
James Suckling
Review Date: 03/2022Korean-pear, melon and some lime undertones follow through to a full body with very tangy and vivid acidity that’s steely and energetic and goes on for minutes. High energy. Oyster shell and stone at the end. Lemony undertone. Minerality. Drink now.

Notes
Dana Estates’ “Hershey Vineyard” Howell Mountain Sauvignon Blanc comes from a small, high-elevation block at about 1,800 feet on Howell Mountain, part of the estate’s organically farmed vineyards. Established by proprietor Hi Sang Lee and crafted by renowned winemaker Philippe Melka, this wine first emerged from the vineyard’s 2005 plantings and reflects meticulous site-driven viticulture. Fermented in a combination of oak barrels and puncheons with regular lees stirring, it embodies the estate’s philosophy of creating complex, cellar-worthy wines from Napa Valley’s most distinctive terroirs.
