Reviewed January 2025The 2023 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Jarrons 1er Cru has a little more nuance and mineralité compared to the La Dominode, with light floral scents emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied, taut and fresh, with finely chiseled tannins and a little more persistence toward the finish. This is a delightful, well-crafted Savigny to enjoy over the next decade.(NM)

Note: from vines planted in 1983 and 1987. Pronounced floral-suffused aromas possess notes of plum, violet, dark cherry and freshly turned earth. The caressing, round and delicious medium weight flavors possess good mid-palate volume before concluding in a firm, youthfully austere and mildly rustic finish.

A fine glowing crimson. Here the bouquet is easily accessible, with a deep red fruit, nicely integrating with the oak. Perfectly balanced with a good concentration of red strawberry-raspberry fruit, adequate tannins, and very good length. A well-judged picking date, I suspect. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2024.
