Reviewed May 2024The white from the top of the slope in Morey was lovely in 2023, with an expressive nose of ripe pears and acacia blossoms. The texture is lush but retains enough acidity to keep the wine dynamic and lively on the palate. There is an elegant purity of fruit that comes straight through the lingering finish. The domaine has almost a half-hectare in Chardonnay here; the grapes are fermented in stainless and aged for 18 months in cask (15% new).(CC)

Sitting high on the hill, these vines produce a seriously fresh, perky wine that tingles with leafy herbs, white grapefruit and crushed seashells. There is almost no topsoil here, so minerally tones come through in spades. This is a highly unique white from the Côte de Nuits.

The 2023 Morey Saint-Denis En la Rue Vergy Blanc has a very perfumed nose with lemon verbena, orange pith and light sea spray scents. The palate is well balanced with a honeyed entry counterbalanced by acidity. Touches of honeycomb and Satsuma build toward the finish, leaving hints of chai on the aftertaste. Excellent.(NM)

Pale lemon and lime. A very elegant nose, quite a cut above the Marsannay wines. This is fine boned, with a lovely graceful long finish. Not massive, but nicely judged. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Nov 2024.
