The 2021 Sugarloaf Vineyard Proprietary Red is yet another knockout from the Lerner Project in this vintage. Composed of Cabernet Franc and Merlot this this begins with inviting aromas of black currants and blueberries that merge with nuances of dark violets and mint all taking shape. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous textural richness with remarkable balance and structure. Beautifully polished tannins lead the way as this displays excellent concentration with a lovely touch of underlying acidity providing a wonderful sense of freshness through the finish. This will have a long graceful evolution ahead and only become more compelling over time. (JD)
