Very vinous. Captivating aromas of subtle strawberries, flint, gunmetal and crushed stones. Medium-bodied with beautiful purity and length, this has ultrafine bubbles that blend in nicely and go on for minutes. Real clarity. 2020 base vintage with 25% reserve wines. No barrel fermentation. All pinot noir. Dosage 8 g/L. Drink now.

An enticing waft of fragrant spices draws you into the glass, where ripe and juicy black cherry and currant fruit is underscored by a clean swathe of underlying salinity. Details of pickled ginger, crystallized honey, biscuit and white blossoms expand nicely on the plush mousse, which is raw silk–like in feel. This is rich and expressive, with good depth, yet its chiseled acidity provides fine definition throughout. Mouthwatering finish. Disgorged February 2025. Drink now through 2035. (AN)

Vinous

Review Date: 04/2025
The NV PN-TX20 is a powerful, tightly wound wine. All the drive of Pinot comes through in this decidedly virile Champagne. As with all the wines in this new series from Bollinger, the NV PN-TX20 is built around a base wine, in this case 2020 Pinot Noir from Tauxières, with 50% reserve wines, half of them from Bollinger's extensive library of reserve wines aged in magnum. This is an especially vinous Champagne, one that needs at least a year or two in bottle to unwind. The year was characterized by a relatively short cycle of just 87 days from flowering to a harvest that began on August 25. Dosage is 8 grams per liter. Disgorged: January, 2025. 93+ (AG)

Named after the village of Tauxières, from which it takes its abbreviation, the new NV Blanc de Noirs PN TX20 contains 40% fruit sourced from Tauxières, and the remaining composition draws largely from Aÿ-Champagne and Avenay-Val-d'Or. This cuvée is based on the 2020 vintage (48%), complemented by reserve wines from 2019 (stored in tank) as well as 2012 and 2008 (both aged in magnums). Disgorged in February 2025 with a dosage of eight grams per liter, it bursts from the glass with expressive aromas of ripe pear, tangerine peel, clove and brioche. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, broad and textural, with lively acidity and a generous core of fruit. The finish is expansive, though a subtle sweetness emerges, lending the impression of being one of the least dry expressions among the house’s Pinot Noir Champagnes. Vinified equally in stainless steel and oak barrels, approximately 80% of the fruit for this cuvée is sourced from Bollinger’s own vineyards. (KK)

This was one of the smash hits of our big champagne tent events, and for me, the best thing I have tasted from Bollinger since the 2008 RD! The sixth edition in the "PN" series from Bollinger, this all-Pinot Noir bottling shows of the great chalkiness, deep minerality, and clean power that this house is so well known from. The base vintage of 2020 is considerably brighter than expected, thanks to reserves from 2012 and 2008 in the blend, and the great red fruit style is framed by beautiful baguette toast. The village of Tauxieres (the TX in the name) has never been shown off in a better way! What a wine!

Brilliant expression of 100% Pinot Noir Champagne! Full bodied, rich, textural with ripe apple and honey aromas. It's balanced nicely with freshness of Meyer lemon acidity but doesn't come across as too austere. Very supple and mouthwatering, opulent, and delicious all by itself, though can be a good match to heavier meals like Thanksgiving dinner, complementing the complexity of all sides and a turkey.

It's always such a treat when Gary opens these up, he's such a great guy he makes a video hyping the product and then leaves the rest for the staff to enjoy. It is very appreciated and very Gary Westby of him. The nose on this is super pretty, there's just a little subtle waft of red fruit and then it immediately transitions into blood orange with a little bit of creamy lemon behind it along with a touch of salinity, all ensconced by a really light sourdough crumb. The palate is crisp, great acidity on the edges and a really pretty lemon flower and super crisp green apple on the palate, followed by some delicious chalky salinity that lingers on the palate between sips. Just marvelous, a fantastic bottle with grace and elegance and a really pretty smile, this is definitely a top pick
