But in another way, this is more immediate and comes out with all guns blazing, a kaleidoscope of red berry fruit, crushed stone, cumin, traces of Earl Grey and undergrowth. The palate is framed by filigree tannins that lend this Romanée-Conti unerring symmetry. Satin-textured, refined and graceful, this is not understated but imbued with a sense of effortlessness.
