"Cado" is Anna Maria’s exploration of the classic Langhe blend of Barbera and Dolcetto, aged for 18 months in a mix of French and Slovenian oak. This is a wine designed to show the longevity and seriousness of these "other" Piedmontese grapes. The 2015 vintage is a stunning library release, now a decade old and just hitting its stride. It's rich and fresh at the same time, with a core of dark fruit, delicate sweet spice, and a persistent, complex finish. It perfectly illustrates the estate's philosophy that all of their wines, not just Barolo, are built with patience and longevity in mind.

I'm absolutely in love with this wine. Perfectly aged with lovely savory and spice driven profile yet with still dark red fruit and earthy notes. It has velvety texture and fully developed profile and easy to drink. Still has plenty of freshness and vibrancy that harmoniously co-exist with rich fruit. Truly unique and delicious wine.

From one of the top producers in Dogliani, Anna Maria Abbona’s 2015 “Cadò” is a stunning look at a fully mature, old-vine Dolcetto from a ripe and powerful vintage. After a decade of evolution, this Langhe Rosso has shed its youthful fruit for a profound, savory complexity. The nose is deep and aromatic, with notes of dried black cherry and plum, interwoven with sophisticated hints of leather, sweet tobacco, and dried herbs. On the palate, it’s medium-to-full-bodied, with the once-firm tannins now resolved into a smooth, velvety texture. A long, savory finish echoes with notes of licorice and spice. A rare and contemplative Dolcetto drinking at its absolute peak.
