Almost 10 years ago now I first met the father and son team behind Dancing Crow Vineyards. In my first year of buying the Domestic wines for K&L I had a memorable tasting with Tony and Stefan and was quite taken by their wines, especially the purity and focus of their Sauvignon Blanc. My first order with them was hand-delivered on a flatbed trailer behind Tony's car all the way from Clear Lake to Redwood City. I'm thrilled to have the wine on the shelves once again! Lake County has long been known for the quality of its Sauvignon Blanc, and it's easy to see why. The combination of elevation, dramatic diurnal temperature swings, and rocky volcanic soils seem to make Sauv Blanc happy, and the brightness and freshness if the fruit really sings in the wine. Dancing Crow seek to make a very focused, mineral driven, "Sancerre inspired" style of wine. At just 12.5% ABV, this wine combines white floral notes and fleshier stone fruit elements, with flashes of citrus, fresh cut herbs, and an almost savory rocky minerality. Despite the modest price point, this is actually a pretty serious bottle of Sauv Blanc with nice texture and resonating presence on the palate. An exceptional value for money. A refreshing, vibrant glass of white for just about any occasion.

I'm surprised and pleased by this wine! The full round body and peachy palate give way to a surprisingly long and zesty dry finish. The refreshing aromas of orange peel and honeysuckle make this a mouth-watering treat at an incredible price for the quality.
