The wine is redolent of forest berry, sour cherry and blue flower. The bouquet remains a little closed initially. This is a wine that will certainly benefit from cellar aging. Some 10,000 bottles were created.

Pouring a youthful red brick color, the 2020 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna Del Fiore is perfumed and floral, with pretty notes of crushed strawberries, herbes de Provence, roses, sweet herbs, and dusty earth. Medium-bodied, it's elegant on the palate, with salty accents, ripe, defined tannins, and an elegant feel throughout. It's a very charming wine to drink over the coming 12 years.

The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore boasts a youthfully coy notes of dried black cherries, rosemary, sage, crushed stones and dusty earth. It's cool-toned and sleek, with polished wild berry fruits that swirl beneath an air of sweet lavender as fine tannins slowly saturate toward the close. This displays fantastic balance and depth, finishing long and tannic yet fresh, with hints of citrus-laced blackberries and licorice. This is a spectacular effort from this warm vintage.

The “Vigna del Fiore” is a piece of Brunello history. First produced in 1981, it was one of the very first single-vineyard Brunellos in Montalcino, a revolutionary concept at the time. This wine comes from a small, 5.7-hectare plot with old vines and unique sandy soils. The vineyard is located close to the uber famous Cerretalto of Casanova di Neri. The nose here is more lifted and aromatic: it is a more fragrant and ethereal expression of Sangiovese. It moves with a grace and energy that is simply captivating. Only 10000 bottles made.
