2022 Chateau des Quarts "L'Orangerie Clos des Quarts" Pouilly-Fuisse

Review Date: 01/2025As much lime as lemon in the colour. Very grapey on the nose, but in theory not muscatty as they avoided that version of chardonnay when taking cuttings to plant the new plots. Quite classy but evidently not the weight and depth of older vines. A lemony touch at the finish. Drink from 2025-2029. Tasted Mar 2024.

Note: note that this is technically a 1er as well but it's not indicated as such on the label; from young vines. Moderate reduction is present and it's enough to mask the nuances of the fruit. Otherwise, there is excellent volume to the middle weight flavors for such young vines that are at once vibrant and generously proportioned before terminating in a lightly citrusy, clean and dry finish where the only nit is a mild touch of warmth. I would suggest giving this 15 minutes of air first and then serving it a few degrees cooler than usual.
