Jack’s Hill Pinot Noir comes from a small, ultra-cool-climate vineyard on the West Sonoma Coast. This site sits just a few miles from the ocean near Bodega Bay, where the vines are constantly buffeted by cold winds and fog off the Pacific. Temperatures during the growing season very rarely exceed 75 degrees Fahrenheit, and often hover around 65-70 even on a “warm,” sunny day. The long, extended growing season allows for tremendous flavor development in this pure, elegant, bright-fruited Pinot Noir. The nose is full of red berries, dried flowers, baking spice, sassafras, and hints of dry, dusty earth. Very vibrant and focused on the palate, with just the subtlest hint of oak framing the pomegranate and raspberry fruit. Savory, woodsy spice and whole-cluster stem notes add further intrigue.
