This year, fruit is sourced from the Matthiasson, Phoenix, and Cressida Vineyards, which are grown on shale soils in upper Carneros. The wine is intensely fragrant, with blue fruit aromas complemented by savoury notes of sage, peppercorn, bay laurel, and green tobacco. Medium-bodied, it boasts a crystalline purity of fruit and expressive saline minerality that carries through to a dazzlingly delicious finish—a beautifully balanced and evocative wine.

This vibrant, medium-bodied Cabernet Franc comes in at a refreshing 12.5 alcohol percentage. Normally, I would expect this to have been on the leaner side but that's certainly not the case. It's lively and juicy with delicious black cherry and blue fruit supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity. A nice grip of acidity adds length to the finish. A real find and a solid alternative to the heavier/oakier style California reds.

Hello crunchy! What a great, red-fruited nose with floral scents of violets and fresh strawberry fruit and light tobacco. On the palate, slightly chewy, with ripe strawberries and tart boysenberry fruit. elegant and medium-bodied, with background herbal notes. The finish is bright with fresh acidity. Like the other Matthiasson wines, lower alcohol.
