From one of the Valle d'Aosta's most talented producers, the 2022 Elio Ottin Fumin is a stunning expression of this rare, indigenous alpine grape. The nose is deep and savory, with intense aromas of wild blackberry, black plum, and crushed violets, layered with notes of black pepper, smoke, and alpine herbs. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied but powerfully structured, with firm, fine-grained tannins and a vibrant, almost electric acidity that frames a core of dark, earthy fruit. The finish is long and intensely mineral, with a lingering graphite edge. A serious, soulful red that beautifully captures the wild spirit of the Alps with remarkable polish.
