Review Date: 10/2025The Quintodecimo 2024 Greco di Tufo Giallo d'Arles is partially oak-fermented (with 30% going into new barrique and the rest in stainless steel) and sources its fruit from a 12-hectare site with tuffaceous sand and clay soils that are typical of this important DOCG wine area in southern Italy. These environmental conditions impart unique mineral sharpness and focus to the wines. I love that hint of marine-like saltiness that frames crisp pear and unripe peach. This is a nuanced vintage that offers pretty aromas, tension and more structural firmness than you might expect. There is good runway for further bottle aging. Production is 43,000 bottles. (ML)

Notes
Quintodecimo’s 2024 “Jaune d'Arles” is the estate’s monumental expression of Greco di Tufo, a wine of profound structure, minerality, and depth. The nose is intense and complex, opening with aromas of ripe apricot and pear skin, layered over a powerful core of crushed flint, smoke, and dried wildflowers. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and textural, with a subtle phenolic grip and a vibrant, driving acidity that creates incredible tension and focus. The finish is exceptionally long and savory, with lingering notes of saline minerality and toasted almond. A benchmark Greco di Tufo with immense aging potential, this is a wine that truly speaks of its volcanic origins.
