The Quintodecimo 2024 Greco di Tufo Giallo d'Arles is partially oak-fermented (with 30% going into new barrique and the rest in stainless steel) and sources its fruit from a 12-hectare site with tuffaceous sand and clay soils that are typical of this important DOCG wine area in southern Italy. These environmental conditions impart unique mineral sharpness and focus to the wines. I love that hint of marine-like saltiness that frames crisp pear and unripe peach. This is a nuanced vintage that offers pretty aromas, tension and more structural firmness than you might expect. There is good runway for further bottle aging. Production is 43,000 bottles. (ML)

Broad on the palate but bright and well-honed, this minerally white layers flavors of pear, white cherry and Marcona almond with a zesty thread of white pepper and ground ginger. Clean-cut through the focused finish. Drink now through 2034. 4,700 cases made, 400 cases imported. (AN)

Airy and fresh, the 2024 Giallo d'Arles wafts up with a whiff of white smoke and stone dust, giving way to lime zest, green melon and chlorophyll. Salty minerals contrast with candied citrus and tart Granny Smith apple over soothingly round textures. The 2024 finishes poised and crisp with a saline resonance and nuances of mint. (EG)

The most powerful and structured of the estate’s whites, this Greco is flinty, smoky, and intense, with a powerful mineral core that promises a long life ahead.

Notes

Quintodecimo’s 2024 “Jaune d'Arles” is the estate’s monumental expression of Greco di Tufo, a wine of profound structure, minerality, and depth. The nose is intense and complex, opening with aromas of ripe apricot and pear skin, layered over a powerful core of crushed flint, smoke, and dried wildflowers. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and textural, with a subtle phenolic grip and a vibrant, driving acidity that creates incredible tension and focus. The finish is exceptionally long and savory, with lingering notes of saline minerality and toasted almond. A benchmark Greco di Tufo with immense aging potential, this is a wine that truly speaks of its volcanic origins.
