The 2022 Blaufränkisch is made from the younger vines of an average age of 25 years, picked in Sankt Margarethen, Müllendorf and Zagersdorf. Blueberry and pepper are foremost on the juicy nose, with lovely energy and verve. The palate echoes this even more, with its vivid and vibrant energy on a beautifully fine-boned palate full of fruit with no heaviness at all. It is so pure, with an astonishing freshness for a year as dry as 2022. (AK)
