Sometimes down the middle is the best place to be, and this is just an absolutely down the middle bottle of Austrian Gruner Veltliner in the very best of ways. The nose has some lemon citrus, a little bit of green, and just this really super light stone fruit in the very back part of the nosebleed seats. The palate is has a really nice and pleasant heft/mouthfeel, there's a really nice line of acidity through the whole thing, and towards the end there's just a little tiny hint of bitterness that's going to help this pair so nicely. Honestly, this is just a straight up quaffer, a bottle that needs no introduction except to be introduced to my wine glass. If you wanted to have it with food, by all means, I could see fresh cheese, roast chicken, and also a nice piece of salmon working well with this.
