2023 Eric Kent "Sascha Marie - Roberts Road Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Review Date: 08/2025
The nose on this opens up just so expressive and pretty, loads of both red and black cherries, just a touch of ripe raspberry, and something very slightly earthy and tarry in the very back. The palate is just a little rich, fairly medium bodied, and really fruit-driven. There's just loads more red and black cherries, super ripe raspberry, and some sweet cranberry towards the ends. The finish is long and lingering, with a little bit of toasty barrel spice coming up, but this just helps round out those corners, and then at the end a little bit of that very slightly tarry note that just makes the wine feel a bit bigger than it is, giving it a little bit of a savory finish.

Notes
Like art in a bottle. Kent Humphrey created the Eric Kent winery as a celebration of art and craft. He sources fruit from some of Sonoma County's best vineyards and he partners with local Sonoma artists to feature their work in a sort of wine label gallery. Each wine Kent creates features a new and distinct piece of art. For Kent’s part, after pursuing a career in academia and advertising, he found a home in the wine cellar, and began working with vineyards he loves throughout Sonoma County.
