2022 Albert Mann Riesling "Wineck-Schlossberg" Grand Cru Alsace
95
James Suckling
Review Date: 05/2024Very fine white peach and lemon blossom aromas are wrapped around a firm, stony core on the focused and concentrated, medium-bodied palate. Very complex interplay of restrained creaminess and crystalline minerality right through the lingering finish. From 60-year-old vines in this steep site with granitic soil. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Notes
93pts Ian d'Agata Wine Review: "Lively straw colour. Lemon, chlorophyll, wet stones musk and sage on the nose and in the mouth. Closes long and nicely broad with good spicy cut. More herbal than the Schlossberg and always more open than that wine, the vines in the Wineck-Schlossberg are almost always picked one week before those of the Schlossberg. The Barthelmys first made this wine in 2019. Drinking window: 2026-2036."904/2024)
