Antonin likes to drink this young because it has fruit and salinity. Lifted fruit, even a peach or apricot, with underlying stones. Quite generous in style but with the underlying salinity, and length. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Oct 2024.

Note: from Chenevottes proper. Here too the nose is reduced beyond any reasonable ability to read it. The delicious and generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel before terminating in a sappy and nicely dry finish that is slightly longer and more complex.

The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chenevottes 1er Cru has an understated stony bouquet with touches of lemon rind meeting nectarine. The palate is fresh on the entry and open-knit, with well-judged acidity, a little creaminess emanating from the oak and a touch of dried honey on the finish. Fine.(NM)
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "A smaller but cushioned and very elegant nose. More direct, fluid and melting – I love that – it just has an extra oak that I’d wait for today."(09/2024)
