This is also quite ripe yet attractively fresh and layered with its aromas of cassis, black cherry liqueur, kirsch and anise. There is good power and volume, if perhaps not quite the same mid-palate density, to the lightly stony and beautifully textured flavors that terminate in a dusty, balanced and lightly austere finale. This is firm enough to repay mid-term cellaring but not so compact that it couldn't be enjoyed on the younger side.
