This was such a pleasant surprise, I haven't tasted as much Burgundy as I should have perhaps but Domaine Etienne Sauzet is one that I definitely recognize. This one is especially exciting, because it's declassified young vine Puligny-Montrachet. The result is a Bourgogne Blanc that definitely tastes more expensive than it is. There's just a touch of mostly neutral oak on the nose, along with really pretty ripe green apple and fresh lemon wedges. The palate is fairly deep, but incredibly round and pretty in the mouth, with a really lush and pretty line of acidity through the whole palate. There's a really lovely chalky minerality on the finish that kind of works its way around the light oak and the fruit in a way that just makes this so crazy sippable, drying everything out just enough to push you to take that next sip. The finish is lingering, with just a touch of something toasty and a little bit of a pithy lemon finish. This is a wine that is over-delivering with every sip, and especially with a little age on it will have elegance and grace I am unable to adequately describe in prose.
