The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Hameau de Blagny 1er Cru sports just the right amount of reduction on the nose that does not disguise the terroir. There's energy here. The palate is well balanced and quite intense, with touches of tangerine and passionfruit, but the acidic spine keeps the richness in check. This is a fine Puligny with impressive weight and a sustained finish—but perhaps without the intellectual heft of the top cuvées. (NM)
