2024 Rombauer Napa-Sonoma Counties Sauvignon Blanc
91
Decanter
Review Date: 02/2025The 2024 Sauvignon Blanc is sourced primarily from Sonoma Valley, with some fruit from Napa. Hand-picked and whole-cluster pressed, it undergoes cool fermentation in stainless steel and is aged in about 10% neutral oak, with some in concrete tanks—both of which help round out the back palate. The wine leads with bright citrus peel character and green and yellow apple, framed by zesty acidity and wet slate minerality on the finish. A subtle, building richness adds to its appeal, making it incredibly food-friendly. Oklahoma-born and raised, Andrew Holloway began his winemaking journey as an intern at Rombauer in 2010. His talent and dedication saw him rise to assistant winemaker in 2014, and in 2023, he was named winemaker. (JC)
