The 2023 Pommard Les Epenots 1er Cru is, as usual a blend of "Grand" and "Petit" Epenots. This year, it includes 40% whole bunch. This has a lot of panache on the nose with raspberry, wild strawberry and wilted rose petal scents that blossoms in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, beautifully balanced with a slightly chalky finish. This is an outstanding Pommard from Anne Parent that should age gracefully in bottle.(NM)

Note: from 85+ year old vines; 30% whole cluster. A beautifully layered nose features fruit aromas from both side of the spectrum along with plenty of humus-tinged earth. The rich, generous and palate coating medium weight flavors possess impressive power on the very firm, serious and robust finale. Half the vines are 80 years old, half 16 years. The Pommard Chaponnières has been made with 40% whole bunches and 45% new wood. Deep purple in colour. Super-sultry deep raspberry fruit, very classy, swamps the tannins, this will make a gorgeous Pommard in due course. Lovely sumptuous fruit throughout. Drink from 2031-2038. Tasted Nov 2024.
