Mid ruby colour. An elegant red berry fruit of medium density. Then La Montagne builds very nicely on the palate with some darker cherry and raspberry fruit, a good baseline acidity and some length. Clearly more of a hillside wine. It’s in the name! Drink from 2027-2030. Tasted Dec 2024.

A distinctly cool nose offers up an airy mix of the essence of various red berries, crushed anise and a whiff of just turned earth. There is a lovely sleekness to the overtly mineral-driven flavors that conclude in a chiseled, detailed and youthfully austere finale. This could use better depth so a few years of keeping should help to develop more.
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "This less dark but a nose of fine clarity again – redder fruit this time – much more floral today. Hmm – there’s scale but also a mouth-watering flavour that invades the whole of your mouth – extra finesse here – but long with a chalky texture. Very different to the Longeroies – but just as good!!"(02/2025)
