Reviewed December 2025Punchy aromas of boysenberry, black plum and black raspberry perfume the nose that is dusted with violet and rose petals. The palate pulls black fruit towards a red fruit core that is draped in a blanket of florals that lift and elevate the finish. Verquière’s Côtes du Rhône remains one of the best values in the Rhône category. Bursting with juicy strawberry, cherry, and fig, it captures all the charm and flavor of southern France. Subtle notes of tobacco and pepper add complexity, while its medium-bodied frame makes it the perfect weeknight pour. Year after year, this wine is a customer favorite—and once it’s in your glass, it’s easy to see why.
Notes
The Verquière estate has been passed down from father to son for four generations and is now managed by Thibaut Chamfort. Following age-old traditions and sustainable practices, the estate was certified organic in 2014. Following their wines for many years, we were happy to add them to our Direct Import portfolio in 2015. The Côtes-du-Rhône is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, grown on chalky clay soils with loads of large pebbles in the vineyards. This has become one of our favorite everyday reds out of the South of France and we're confident you will feel the same. *Organic*
