2023 Domaine de la Ganse "L'Affirmé[e]" Vacqueyras

Coralie Onde is from the winemaking family behind Domaine les Ondines, but opted to start her own project independent of her family estate in 2008. She formed Domaine de la Ganse in Vacqueyras when she purchased some terrific old vine fruit, also taking a small holding when the family estate was split. With close to nine hectares now, Coralie began the organic certification process and was officially certified in 2014. Her vines are aged from fifteen to fifty-five years and the soils are primarily chalky-clay with some galet (river stones). "L'Affirmé[e] is a blend of Syrah and Grenache that is destemmed and fermented in tank. It then ages for 13 months in second and third use oak barrels. More powerful and structured, this classical style has the ability to age for several years.
