The 2021 Barolo Monfalletto is gorgeous. Deep, pliant and expressive, the 2021 has a lot to offer. I would give this a few years in the cellar, as it is quite concentrated and deep. Black cherry, leather, spice, incense and licorice build nicely, leading to a rich, sumptuous finish. The Monfalletto is a beautiful, highly pleasing Barolo. All it needs is a bit of time to shed some of its considerable baby fat. (AG)

The inky red 2021 Barolo Monfalletto is woodsy and ripe on the nose, with lush balsamic herbs, baked black cherries, fruitcake-like walnut, and sweet spices. The palate is broad and leans to a full-bodied frame, with ripe tannins that are matched with a cushion of ripe fruit through the mid-palate and finish. It’s a hearty Barolo but doesn’t feel weighted and is going have a wide window for enjoyment over the next 15 or so years. (AF) 92+
