This wine is so fresh and lively on both the nose and the palate. Notes of candied citrus, orange and kumquat nicely play against the racy acidity and ample mineral notes. Complex, layered and full-bodied this is a stunningly good Pinot Gris.

A nice mix of floral and fruit, there's some white flowers mingling with white peaches at the forefront of the bouquet. Digging a little deeper brings out a juicy smelling pear, a little bit of lemon, and a touch of something I can't quite put my finger on but it feels terroir-related. The palate has a big pop of fruit, but then it fades just a touch and turns savory in the mid-palate before swinging right back around to the fruit on the finish. This is just delicious, and not really what I was expecting, but that's why it's sometimes a waste of time to have preconceptions. That goes for having them about people too. I want to have this with some kind of veal or pork dish, maybe some kind of sausages with a light sauce and some kind of layered potato dish on the side.
