2023 Domaine Vocoret et Fils Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre"

The 2023 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru is the only cuvée from two lieu-dits that are blended together. This has a lively and exuberant bouquet, very expressive of its terroir and at the moment, displaying more energy than the Fôrets. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, just a touch mentholé towards the finish, but retaining freshness and terroir expression throughout. I see this maturing beautifully in bottle - a very impressive 2023 in the making. (NM)
