Seven different sites comprise this wine, mainly from the Chehalem Mountains, Eola-Amity and Dundee Hills. This was the wine that started Hundred Suns. Winemaker Grant Coulter reflects on the heat spell in late August, the wines started out giving initially and then tightened up in the barrel. Then relaxed in the tank, loosening up again in the bottle. There's an immediate elegance to the best wines from 2023. An unbelievable wine for $35. Deep violet florals, and a cool core of blue fruits, with a round blue marble in my mouth. (CP)
