Reviewed January 2025Though this hails from the cooler, Les Clos side of the valley, it is rather exotic and robust— a bit Côte d'Or-ian. Pain aux raisins, spice toast and baked nectarines create a temptingly complex palate. Cyril commented that this picks up more tension with time, but it's very attractive as is, too.

Mid yellow. The oak is much more obvious on the Valmur, with a bit of coconut. That is not atypical of Valmur which I often think presents the most Côte d’Or like interpretation of Chablis. There is obviously a vast volume of fruit behind and it is not at all exotic. Wait for the wood to calm down and there should be something special here. The minerals and the fruit continue out long behind. Lovely finish. Drink from 2028-2036. Tasted Jun 2024.

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Old parcel, Grenouilles side. The same elevage as the last except 228-litre barrels instead of 500s – all new. An oak spice again but airy and very attractive. The most mineral and chalky of these three – chalky finishing texture. What a great wine – the oak is obviously present but intervenes less than the Bougros – it’s a great wine – one that I wouldn’t touch for 5 years, but then…"(01/2025)
