2023 Domaine FL "Communal" Savennières
Review Date: 03/2026
"Communal" represents a blend of several different vineyard sites. Like all the Domaine FL wines, it's outstanding. There's a lot of mineral character on both nose and palate and the wine exudes great tension and acidity. It's juicy and mouthwatering and outstanding with food. Drink now for its youthful exuberance or place it reliably in the cellar as its sure to age well for many years.

Notes
Notes on the producer from Yohan Castaing for Wine Advocate: "Domaine FL emerged in the Loire's viticultural landscape in 2006 when entrepreneur Philip Fournier, leveraging his acumen from the telecommunications industry, entered the winemaking domaine through strategic acquisitions from a part of Domaine Jo Pithon and the Château de Chamboureau. Now stretching across 43 hectares, the estate has been officially labelled for its organic viticulture. In the cellar, the wines are matured for a long time, and malolactic fermentation is carried right through to completion. FL owns many well-situated parcels in Savennières or Anjou; the wines are classic and well executed." (01/2024)
