Review Date: 01/2024Medium crimson colour. The bouquet is quite restrained, yet the palate delivers an interesting strawberry fruit with just a touch of blood orange. An understated wine which is nonetheless agreeable. Drink from 2029-2036.

This is also quite floral in character with its just sliced plum and crushed dark berry scents. The round, rich and suave medium-bodied flavors are quite generous thanks to the abundant sap that also serves to buffer the moderately firm structure shaping the lingering finish that also displays a touch of warmth.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes 1er Cru offers a mélange of red and black fruit, a light incense aroma emerging from the wings. There's a pleasant "delicacy" about the bouquet. The medium-bodied palate is fleshy with supple tannins, finishing with a subtle marine/seaweed influence. It doesn't quite "kick on" like it can in some vintages, though it will drink well over the next decade. (NM)
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Between Clos Prieur and Chapelle ChambertinWide, silken but with the aromatic impression of a small cushion to the fruit. More cushioned wine – the structure too – finishing with a wonderful line of mouth-watering flavour. Gorgeous finishing… What a beautiful wine, much less overtly structural too."-(01/2024)
