The Servin family’s vines in the premier cru of Vaucoupin are some of their oldest, as they are just about fifty years of age. Their 2023 Vaucoupin is outstanding and very much defined by its underlying minerality in this classic vintage, offering up a complex bouquet of tart orange,grapefruit, limestone minerality, dried flowers, citrus peel and Chablisienne straw. On the palatethe wine is bright, full-bodied, focused and complex, with a good core of fruit, crisp acids and finebalance on the long and youthfully complex finish. Of all of the Servin premier crus from 2023,this is the most tightly-knit and adolescent out of the blocks and I would opt to age this a few years in the cellar before starting to pull corks, just to let it blossom properly. 2027-2050.
