One of the great, long-standing producers in Alsace, Trimbach is renowned for producing chiseled Rieslings that age beautifully and consistently over-deliver given their price. The Frédéric Émile offering is sourced from two Grand Cru vineyards: Geisberg and Osterberg, which, when blended together, create an amazing wine. Deep, full, and complex, the 2017 Trimbach “Cuvée Frédéric Émile” Riesling stuns from the first sniff of the glass all the way to the long, multi-faceted finish. If you want a truly spectacular white wine with a little age on it and in a perfect drinking window, then you owe it to yourself to grab a few bottles of this amazing elixir!

This is the Rolls Royce of Alsatian Rieslings! Nice and salty with lemon zest, key lime, orange, white peach. There are also flavors of Granny Smith apples and fresh, pure honey. Slightly oxidative in the very best way! Long and lingering finish with marvelous complexity and generous mouthfeel. It will keep extremely well for many years to come!

I really like wine, if you've read my reviews you've probably clued into the fact that I'm kinda into wines of all kinds. Riesling is a stereotypical favorite of Sommeliers, and I'm no exception. Not that but it's an even nerdier Alsatian Riesling. The nose is everything you want Riesling to be. It's got a rich petrol, really pretty stone-fruit and citrus, some white flowers buried deep, and it's just rich and a little luxurious on the nose alone. The dry palate has really pretty honeyed sort of fruit, along with underripe peach, more petrol, and then at the end there's some really great lingering minerality playing around with the gas and little flicks of fruit. This is eight years old and probably wants another eight or so before you really dig into it, but if you want to enjoy it now it's a really fantastic sip.
