Very fleshy, suave and fragrant. This has excellent concentration and beautiful harmony of ripe fruit with fine toasty, smoky oak plus ample velvety tannins. The finesse at the front is every bit as impressive as the structure that builds in the long finish. From organically grown grapes from a 1.3-hectare plot. Matured in 50% new oak and 50% once-used oak. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.

A solid, broad-shouldered red, offering a compact matrix of tannins and buried cherry and blackberry fruit, with vivid acidity driving it all. Mineral and spice notes join a touch of sandalwood to accent the fruit as this plays out on the superlong finish. —B.S.

Note: blended from 3 separate lieux-dits, two near the bottom and one near the top. Relatively generous wood fights somewhat with the distinctly earthy, ripe and fresh nose that blends both red and dark pinot fruit. I very much like the texture of the solidly concentrated and sappy larger-bodied flavors that exhibit good power on the balanced, youthfully austere and compact finale. While qualitatively similar to the Ech, the two wines offer very different expressions.*Burghound Sweet Spot!*

A bright and even purple. There is an evenly spread red fruit throughout. Quite tight and tense, the wood adding a bit of grip behind, medium concentrated, a slightly sweet red cherry and strawberry fruit. How much length? Drink from 2030-2038.

Notes

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "3 parcels – of the 2 gates, one is right in the middleA different perfume airy but deep – almost with a tobacco complexity but then flowers – really ever-changing today. Mouth-filling but calm, fresh and fluid – a faint salinity too – not for the first time today. A depth of finishing flavour, so deep and wide, it talks of the deep clays in this plot – what a great finish but what a baby too – a properly excellent CV!!" (01/2024)
