Aged 8 years and sourced from an unnamed distillery in Bardstown, KY. This gorgeous cask strength small batch is a blend of two high rye bourbons with respective mashbills of 60/36/4 & 74/21/4 Corn/Rye/Malted Barley. Only 1300 bottles were made and bottled at without chillfiltration at 118.3 proof. Tasting notes from the bottler, "Tasting Notes: The nose is big and bold, packed with spice—a powerhouse of a high-rye bourbon with serious age behind it. The palate follows suit, bringing all that spice from the nose but adding layers of toasted coconut and spicy plums. The spice level is spot on—something that often fades into oak in older whiskey, but here, it holds strong. Pecans and black pepper add even more depth. The finish is a smooth blend of toasted almonds and black tea that shifts into peach sun tea as it lingers. Waves of toffee, black tea, cloves, dried fig, and custard create a rare balance. The sweetness is still there, but the oak and tannins stay in check, letting the dried fruit and herbal notes stand out. It all wraps up with a long, cedar box and aged tobacco finish—rich, layered, and endlessly sippable."
