Reviewed January 2025The 2022 Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard is a classy, translucent wine. Blood orange, cinnamon, star anise and rose petal lend an exotic flair to this mid-weight Pinot. In 2022, the Wendling is racy and extroverted, but it all works so well. Everything here speaks to balance. This is very rich but not as exuberant as some of the other wines. (AG)

From one of the appellation's coolest sites, far west in the Deep End of the valley, the 2022 Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard is pungent and perfumed, profoundly inviting in red fruit, violet, and a hint of dried herb. It continues its savory fruity edge through a lithe, elegant mid-palate of moderate grip, richness, and balanced acidity. This should do well in the cellar over the next 12-18 years. (VB)

Fermented with 50% whole clusters, the 2022 Pinot Noir Wendling Vineyard bursts from the glass with layered scents of pomegranate, blackberry, hibiscus, sage and lavender. The palate is just as generous with layer after layer of floral fruit. It’s structured by chalky tannins and refreshing acidity and has a very long, detailed finish. 300 cases were made. (EB)

Beautiful layers of vibrant strawberry, lingonberry, cassis, dried florals, clove, and Tahitian vanilla are swimming gingerly in the air. The mouthfeel is electric with wild raspberry, cranberry, pomegranate, citrus peel, and supple acidity, creating a long, decadent finish. (TP)
