A bright dark purple with fresher rim. A startlingly pure fresh bouquet of deep raspberry fruit. Sensational vibrant fruit throughout with excellent fruit acid balance. A long fine and concentrated finish. 75% whole bunch vinification does not show. Great wine! Drink from 2032-2040.

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has another precise bouquet with shimmering red fruit, the 75% whole bunches deftly assimilated and imparting a light spiciness. The palate is medium-bodied with a graphite-tinged entry. It's quite strict at the beginning, but there's real intensity. It translates the limestone soils to beautiful effect on the finish that fans out gloriously. Fabulous.(NM)

Note: from a 1.75 ha parcel of vines averaging 40+ years of age. A cool, elegant and airy nose reflects notes of both red and blue pinot fruit, exotic tea and plenty of floral whiffs, particularly violet and lavender. The sleek and sophisticated medium weight flavors exude an almost palpable minerality as the mouthfeel is akin to rolling tiny pebbles around the mouth, all wrapped into dusty, palate soaking and beautifully long finale. This is excellent though a wine that will need at least some patience.*Burghound Outstanding!*

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras is one of the more overtly sun-kissed wines in the range, offering up aromas of cherry pie, red berry compote, violets and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a rich core of ripe fruit, powdery tannins and a long, saline finish, it's a site that purists may prefer in cooler years.(WK)
