Pouring a ruby color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Summa Vineyard is spicy and lifted, with great energy on the nose, with notes of wild berries, dried lavender, wild herbs, and pine. Medium-bodied, it’s more linear but also keeps ripeness with ease in this vintage. (In fact, the estate did a great job of retaining freshness across the range with this vintage.) With fine tannins and even acidity, this wine is going to cruise over the next 15 years. 96+

The 2022 Pinot Noir Summa is superb. Strong savory and spice notes soar out of the glass. Deep and layered, with exceptional finesse, the 2022 is super-complex. Dried herbs, tobacco, incense, licorice and sage fill out the layers in style. The Summa is one of the most positive surprises in this range. It is more complete than the 2021, but more than that, the 2022 boasts purity of fruit that is compelling. (AG)

Offers gently mulled plum and boysenberry fruit flavors laced with tea and singed sandalwood. Subtle notes of sous-bois, pine and sassafras echo through the silky, slightly sedate finish. This shows character, though. Drink now through 2029. 370 cases made. (JM)
