Bodegas Martinez Corta is a medium-sized family estate that was established at the turn of the previous century. Located in a corner of Rioja Alta that is as much influenced by the Ebro River as it is the Najarilla river, one of its main tributaries. Here the rolling hills move from the Sierra de la Demanda in the South towards the Ebro River. The soils are clay limestone based. The estate's vineyards are planted on the southern slopes of those hills and you can feel it in their wines. They possess the energy and focus that you expect from wines that are grown in the region's calcareous clay soils, but there is just a little bit more body, more texture, and riper fruit tones. This delivers a classic Crianza experience with a subtle modern twist, it was aged in a mixture of French and American oak, softening and polishing the oak profile.
