AD is an extremely unusual project from some of Mexico's finest distillers, artists and restaurateurs. The idea originated from the wild mind of Javier "El Impostor" Rodriguez, a legend, and artists in Guadalajara. He's built a reputation across the tequila, mezcal, and raicilla industry as a champion for the finest traditional Mexican spirits. His innovative spirit exemplifies the modern Mexican identity and has attracted countless luminaries to his side through his compassion, art and food. Now he's partnered with inarguably one of the finest distillers in the world, Cascahuin, to create this unique expression of the great spirit of Jalisco. It begins with full mature agave harvest in both the high and lowlands measuring an exceptionally high 33 and 37 brix, respectively. Roasted slowly in their traditional brix ovens and crushed with Tahona, it's fermented in pine vats with the bagasse included. Double distilled to a low proof of 47% and rested for 3 months in stainless vats, the resulting spirit is full of deep vegetal and roasted fruit character. Bottled at 44%. AD Tequila rests safely in a new cadre of exceptional and intentionally produced small batch spirits from the outrageously good distillery.
