Review Date: 03/2025Let's take a look at the three historic wines from Clos Quebrada de Macul. The first, which opens the portfolio, is Alba, a selection that draws on the house's vineyards and is not only the gateway to this historic terroir, but also a showcase of style. While Stella, the second wine, is full-bodied with a firm tannin structure—monolithic if you like—Alba is much more docile, with a sculpted and rounded texture. Both are very good examples of Andean reds from Maipo Alto, but in almost opposite keys. Domus, the house's top wine, is more on the Alba side in the sense of its texture. There is elegance in this red (97% cabernet sauvignon from 1970s-era vines from, and the rest is petit verdot from younger vines), the sense of place is conveyed through the spicy and herbal aromas, some menthol, lots of black fruits, slight earthy touches. The palate is full of flavors, and those enveloping polished tannins. This is one of the great Domuses we have tasted.
