Review Date: 08/2023The 2020 The Source is a solid step up, with clean aromatics of ripe black and blue fruits, peppery herbs, leather, and graphite. It's medium to full-bodied, has wonderful purity, ripe tannins, and a great finish. This beautiful 2020 red is well worth seeking out.

An excellent blend of 92% syrah, 5% mourvedre and 3% grenache here that shows some bacon fat and smoked meat to the dark cherries, wild herbs and white pepper. Some violets, too. Full-bodied and well-structured on the palate with firm, polished tannins that load the fruit very well. Elegant and fairly long in the finish. Drink or hold.

Bolstered by 5% Mourvèdre and 3% Grenache, this Syrah is brooding on the nose with crushed asphalt, fresh elderberry and charred meat aromas, offering a juxtaposition of dark and bright scents. Firm tannins frame the sip, where charcoal and roasted beef flavors are doused in berry compote. (MK)

Sweet dark florals, crushed blackberries and savory herbs form a capturing bouquet as the 2020 The Source smolders up from the glass. This is cool-toned and mineral in style, with ripe wild berry fruits and zesty acidity that lend a feeling of pure energy. The Source finishes wickedly fresh with a gentle tug of tannin and candied citrus that keep the taster looking back to the glass for more. (EG)
